Here’s what you’ll need for your first
interview:
- #1 The purchase contract for
the house (if you’ve already found one)
#2: Your
banking information for both savings and checking
accounts, including branch address and account
statements from at least 3 months
ago.
#3: Income verification including recent
pay stubs, W2 forms, and tax returns going two years
back.
#4: Recent credit card bills, proof of
rent and utility bills to act as proof of revolving debt
and to show payment history.
#5: Any other proof
of consumer debt for big ticket items such as cars,
student loans, furniture, etc.
#6: Gift letters
if someone is helping you with the down payment.
This gives the lender proof that the money will not have
to be repaid.
Taking the time to gather
these documents will speed up the process and make your
first appearance before a lending company painless and
pleasant. You should know within days whether or
not you’ll qualify for a loan.
